By volunteering with Steps, you will be on the front lines, working directly with kids in the inner-city. This can sometimes be difficult, but it reaps so many rewards!
Summer 2024 Volunteer Opportunities
Adopt-A-Block – 2nd and 4th Mondays @ 4pm (May through October)
With a leader from Steps, go door to door asking if there’s a need (weeding, cleaning up, prayer, etc) Invite them for a meal at Steps
Cook/prep/hand out a meal at Steps
Volunteer Opportunities
Basic Essentials Pantry – 1x per month on Monday @ Steps, 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Receive members of the community coming to the building for basic supplies. Chat with them and offer prayer.
Youth Group Leaders – Monday Nights (and some Fridays) @ Steps, 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Sign up for 1x per month, bi-weekly or every week if you’d like
Hang out and build relationships with the kids (10 & up)
Approx. 1x month we take them for a night out on a Friday (Bowling, bonfires, etc)

BIG Story Leaders – Thursday afternoons @ Arlene Mychajliw Community Center
Sign up for 1x per month, bi-weekly or every week if you’d like
Games, crafts and biblical lessons with the kids (ages 6-11)

Since I have observed the various programs offered through Steps, I see needs met that would otherwise not be addressed. My personal experience has been encouraging in that I’ve seen the youth of Steps growing in the Lord and opting for God’s ways instead of the world’s on many occasions.
