The Steps Year of Mission is an opportunity to live and work in an urban community as an ambassador for Jesus Christ. You will be directly impacting the lives of families in the City of Buffalo while also growing in your relationship with Christ and developing leadership skills. You’ll serve the poor, share the good news with people, disciple teens, and give hope to children who may not have a lot of encouragement.
What is a resident missionary?
The resident missionary is the standard-bearer of Steps Ministries in the Seneca Babcock neighborhood. As a resident missionary, you will live on-site and run the weekly programs in the building. You’ll invest yourself in the neighborhood and get to know the needs of families, finding ways to serve and make disciples.

How much does it cost?
There are no costs besides your time. Steps will provide you with housing and a stipend to cover your food and basics. For other living expenses, resident missionaries work part-time or raise individual support.
How do I sign up?
If you have a burden for the inner-city and want to serve at Steps Ministries in this role, we would love to meet you. The first step is to fill out a volunteer application indicating that you’re interested in the Steps Year of Mission. From there, we’ll set up an interview to get to know you better.
